Frances Koci
Mrs. Frances J. Koci, 82, 541 Golden, died Monday noon in a Topeka hospital where she was admitted Aug. 16.

She was born Aug. 20, 1896, in the Rossville community. She lived in the Grove and Silver Lake communities before she moved to Topeka in 1944.

Mrs. Koci was a member of the auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge and Senior Citizens Group No. 6. She was a member of the Senior Citizens rhythm band and had completed more than 1,000 volunteers hours with the band at the Topeka VA Hospital and at rest homes in Topeka.

She was married to James F. Koci June 21, 1915. He died May 21, 1962. A son, Frank J. Koci, died Sept. 24, 1975.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lillian H. Wiant, Silver Lake, Mrs. Irene J. Neugebauer, Lawrence, and Mrs. Grace D. Laurenti, 1828 Moundview Drive; a brother, Frank Dolezilek, Rossville; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Matyak, Delia, and Mrs. Anna Strimple and Mrs. Lydia Strimple, both of Rossville; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Davidson-Duff Funeral Home. Burial will be in Czech Moravian Cemetery north of Rossville.

Mrs. Koci will lie in state after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
