Clyde Kovar Dead From Heart Attack
Clyde Kovar, 53, Rossville Route, died of a heart attack Friday while driving a tractor on his farm about a mile south of Delia in Jackson County.
He was born Oct. 7, 1911 on the same farm and spent all his life in Jackson County. He was serving his second term as a Jackson County commissioner and was the current chairman of the commission. He was the Jackson County agent for the Farmer’s Union Insurance Company.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Lodge No. 419, AF&AM, and ZCBJ Moravian Lodge, all at Delia. He was a charter member of the Delia Lions Club and was a member of Royal Arch Masons No. 42 at Holton. He was a member of the Jackson County fair board.
Survivors include his wife, Ella, at home; two sons, Eugene W. Kovar and Oren Dean Kovar, both at home; two brothers, Frank E. Kovar, Rogers, Texas, and Edward C. Kovar, Rossville; and two sisters, Mrs. Millie Badura, Rossville, and Mrs. Viola Gideon, Paxico.
Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at the Delia Presbyterian Church with burial in the Moravian Cemetery. Parker Mortuary in Topeka was in charge of arrangements.
