Obituary- Kovar, Emial 2

Emial Kovar
Emial P. Kovar, 98, Rossville, died Friday, October 5, 2001, at Rossville Valley Manor.

He was bom April 4,1903, near Delia, die son of Paul and Frances Kovarik Kovar.

He had lived in the Delia and Rossville communities all of his life. He grew up in the Delia community and attended Delia schools. He farmed near Delia until 1948 when he moved to Rossville where he was a meat cutter for many years at Wehner’s grocery store. He was a lifetime member of the ZCBJ Lodge, and was a charter member of the Rossville Senior Center. He had been a volunteer for the Rossville Fire Department and Shawnee County Fire District No. 3, where he was treasurer for many years.

On August 4,1926, he married Carrie Ann Cerny at Rossville. She died February 6, 1987. A daughter, Dorothy J. Davis, died June 17, 1990.

Survivors include two grand-daughters, Carolyn Sage, Topeka, and Beverly Martinek, Loveland, CO; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

His service was at 10 a.m. Monday at the Rossville Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Rossville Cemetery. A family visitation was held Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville Presbyterian Church or to the Rossville Senior Center and sent in care of the funeral home.

Piper Funeral Chapel, Rossville, was in charge of arrangements.
