Obituary- Kovar, Louis 3

Group in late July and early August. Dr. Kovar’s articles, sermons, poems, and dramas have been published in numerous magazines, periodicals, and anthologies and he was widely known as a leader and scholar in Presbyterian activities.

He was a member of the Port Arthur Rotary Club, a past president of the Port Arthur Ministerial Alliance and had taken an active part in civic affairs since coming to this city.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Doris Kovar, one son, Lynn Kovar, a daughter, Mary Kovar, all of Port Arthur; three brothers, Frank Kovar of Rogers, Texas, Clyde and Ed Kovar of Rossville, Kan., and two sisters, Mrs. Viola Gideon, of Paxico, Kan., and Mrs. Millie Badura of Rossville. Dr. Kovar’s body will lie in state in the church from today at 5 p.m. until time for the services. Following the service the body will be sent to Juniata, Neb. for burial in the Juniata Cemetery.

It has been requested by Dr. Kovar’s family that friends make memorial donations to the church building fund in lieu of floral tribute.

Buried in Neb. Mon, at 2:30 p.m. Mar. 6, 1961. Died in Port Arthur, Texas, Wed., Mar. 1, 1961.
