Obituary- Kovar, Veruna

Veruna Kovar was born June 6, 1840 at Cichov, Moravia, Europe. She was confirmed in the Lutheran Church Faith in childhood and after coming to America she joined the Presbyterian church of which she was a member to the last. She married Paul Kovar in 1862 and to this union were born four sons and a daughter. She came to America with her husband and family in 1876 direct to this community and always resided here. Her husband preceded her in death in 1899. She died Aug. 20, 1926 at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 14 days.

She is survived by four sons, Paul, John, Joseph and William of this community and a daughter Mrs. Anna Scasta of Wheelock, Tex., 28 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Roslna Slacik of Corning, Mo. She is buried in the Czech Cemetery, north of Rossville.
