Obituary- Kratina, Frank 1
FRANK EDWARD KRATINA
Frank Edward Kratina, 87, Topeka, died Thursday, January 31, 1980, at a Topeka hospital after an extended illness.
He was born September 3, 1892, in the original Czech settlement across from the Moravan Hall near Rossville. He was the son of John and Anna Milnar Kratina.
Mr. Kratina farmed near Rossville until the mid-1940s when he moved to Chicago. He retired and returned to Topeka in 1967.
He was a charter and 50-year member of Delia Lodge No. 419 AF&AM, and a 50-year member of ZCBJ Moravian Lodge No. 128, which was founded by his father and other area people. Until his death, Mr. Kratina was the last surviving member of the Rossville Czech Band.
He was married to Pauline Mitcha. She preceded him in death in August, 1975.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nadine Mitchell, Delia; a son, Ernest Kratina, Topeka; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jarmilla Kovar, Overland Park; a stepson, John Mitcha, Overland Park; a sister, Mrs. Tressie Uhl, Grantville; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Masonic services were conducted by Lodge 419, Delia, at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Graveside services at Prairie Home Cemetery, west of Topeka, were conducted by Rossville Lodge 128, ZCBJ.
