Donald E. Macha

ROSSVILLE — Donald E. Macha, 50, Rossville, died at his home Friday, Feb. 27, 2004.
He was born June 3, 1953, in Topeka, the son of Edward and Mary Hobart Macha.
He lived in the Rossville community all his life. He was a maintenance mechanic at Payless ShoeSource Distribution Center in Topeka.
He graduated from Rossville High School in 1971, served six years in the U.S. Navy, and later served in the Naval Reserves.
He married Chris Ketterman in May 1971 in St. Marys. She survives, of the home.
Preceding him in death were his father, on April 13, 2003; two sisters, Susan DeDonder on May 28, 1986, and Sandra Hoferer on March 7, 1987.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Chris, are a son, Brandon Macha, Topeka; a daughter, Tara Tooley, Las Vegas; his mother, Mary Macha, Topeka; four brothers, Wayne Macha, Carlsbad, Calif., Kenneth Macha, Topeka, William Macha, Santee, Calif., and Charles Macha, Jamul, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Isabella Tooley, Las Vegas.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys. Military graveside services will be conducted by Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31, American Legion at Rossville.
Mr. Macha will lie in state after 2 p.m, Tuesday at Piper- Verschelden Funeral Home. Family visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and sent in care of the funeral home.
