Mrs. Josephine Mann
Mrs. Josephine L. Mann, 74, 5400 W. 7th, formerly of Hoyt, died Friday, Oct. 5, at a Topeka nursing home.

Mrs. Mann retired in 1975 from the Kansas Department of Revenue at Topeka. She formerly taught school for several years and operated a grocery store at Hoyt.

She was born Sept. 14, 1910, at Delia, the daughter of Harry and Katie Flynn Argo. She was graduated valedictorian of her class at Hoyt High School and spent most of her life in the Hoyt community.

Mrs. Mann was a member of the “United Methodist Church, Women’s Society for Christian Service and Hoyt Chapter No. 189 of the Order of Eastern Star, all at Hoyt.

She was married to Glenn Mann May 3, 1932, at Topeka. He survives.

Other Survivors include a son, Dale Mann, Colorado Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Ross, Palm Desert, Calif; and Mrs. Bernadine Maxwell, Whiting; two brothers, Bernard Argo, Kansas City, Kan., and Bob Argo, Topeka; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hoyt United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Hoyt Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 2 until 4 p.m. today at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the United Methodist Church at Hoyt, 66440.
