Obituary- Markham, Franklin 2

The funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 2:30 in the Christian church conducted by Rev. G.G. Horne, pastor of the Christian church, assisted by Rev. Basquin of the Methodist church. Music was furnished by Miss Edith Higginbotham, Mrs. Peter Navarre, Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Ishmael, and Mr. William Lynde. The Venus Doud Post, American Legion attended the funeral in a body and their military service at the grave was very impressive. Only three of the Civil war veterans are left in this community.

The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful and testified to the high esteem in which the deceased and his family are held by the people of the community.

The pallbearers were Legion members, Archie Cless, Joe Parr, Carrol Gutshall, Frank Wood, Sydney Stumbaugh and George Hahn.

Among the out-of-town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. Markham's sister, Miss Deborah Markham and a brother W.S. Markham of Council Grove, Mrs. Mary Brown, of Kansas City Mo., Mrs. Martha Powers, of Topeka, Mrs. J.M. Amis, Wm. Markham and family of Topeka.
