Kenneth Marney
ROSSVILLE—Kenneth J. Marney, 61, Ross¬ville, died Friday, Feb. 23,2001, at his home.
Mr. Marney worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Topeka for 32 years before he retired.
He was born Feb. 6, 1940, in Rossville, the son of Theodore S. and Frances Mae Kirkpatrick Marney. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1958 and was a lifelong Rossville resi¬dent.
Mr. Marney was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Topeka and Knights of Columbus Council No. 10755 in Rossville. He also was a member of Wamego Country Club, Goodyear Retirees and the Birmingham Rollers Club. He also raised pigeons his entire life.
He married Betty Tholl on Aug. 16, 1958, in Rossville. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Angela Hadsall, Maple Hill, and Kathleen Robb. Rossville; two sons, Greg Marney, Rossville, and Kerry Marney, Delia; a sister, Delores Ward, Delia; 10 grandchildren; and one great- granddaughter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Topeka. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Ceme¬tery in St. Marys. Mr. Marney will lie in state after 2 p.m. Sunday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice and sent in care of the funeral
home.
