Dr. A.H. Marshall Is Dead at 67
Physician-Bandsman Had Retired May 1

Dr. Albert H. Marshall, 67, Topeka physician for many years and president of Marshall's band, died unexpectedly at his home, 315 Topeka, Monday morning. His death occurred shortly after breakfast, when he lay down for a rest.

Dr. Marshall had been in failing health since December, but had continued his practice until May 1, Saturday he made his usual trip to the office of the American Home Life Insurance company, of which he was medical director.

He was born in Topeka February 25, 1876, the son of the late John Brummell Marshall and Hilda Marshall, and had spent his entire life in Topeka. He received his education in Topeka schools and Washburn university where he was a football letter-man. He was a graduate of the Oklahoma university, and the school of pharmacy at Kansas university.

For many years he had been a member of Marshall's band, which his father organized in 1887. He also served as director of the band several times.

He was director and hospital surgeon for the Rock Island railroad and was also member of the executive committee of Stormont hospital.

He was affiliated with many civic and Masonic organizations as well as a number of medical societies. He was past president of the International Co-operative club, and past president of the Topeka Co-operative club; was a member of the Shawnee county, the Kansas and Golden Belt Medical societies; the American Medical association, and the American Association of Railway Surgeons. He was a past master of Golden Rule lodge No. 90, A.F. & A.M.; past knight commander of Toltec Rite; was a member of York Rite and Scottish Rite bodies; the Arab Shrine; Beulah chapter No. 34, O.E.S., and Brotherhood of Elks.

Surviving are a son, Dr. Brummell M. Marshall, Topeka; a granddaughter, Mary Letha Marshall, Topeka, and two nieces, Mrs. Julia H. Lewis, Topeka, and Mrs. Jean B. Bergurman, Green Castle, Ind. His brother, John B. Marshall, died in 1932.
