Wallace Reid Martin
Wallace Reid Martin, 72, Topeka, died Thursday, July 20, 1995, at his home.
Mr. Martin operated heavy equip¬ment for Hamm Construction and Meier Construction.
He was born July 11, 1923, in Wil¬lard, the son of Henry and Edith Burns Martin. He was graduated from Rossville High School in 1942.
Mr. Martin was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Topeka and Citizen Band Pottawatomie, Tribe of Oklahoma. He was a 25-year member of Local 101 Operators and Engineers.
He was married to lla Sue Eakin Cottle on Sept. 22, 1968, at Jefferson City, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Michael R. Martin, Kansas City, Mo., Rev. Anthony W. “Jony” Martin, Bea¬ver Falls, Pa., and Thomas A. Martin, Atlanta; three daughters, Renae L. Ely, lleta M. Bray and Nanette A. Martin, all of Topeka; a brother, Charles Martin, Silver Lake; six sisters, Olive Beard, Neosho, Mo., Edna DeVader, Holton, Gladys Immenschuh, Augusta, Doris McGee, Rogerson, Idaho, Betty Gib¬son, Topeka, and Catherine DeVader, Delia; 18 grandchildren and one great- granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Satur¬day at the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Martin will lie in state after 1 p.m. today at the Parker-Price Mortuary, where a parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today and relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
