Obituary- Bird, Almarine

ALMARINE HAYWARD BIRD
Almarine Hayward Bird was born October 24th, 1860, in Tremont, Ill. He came to Kansas in 1887 and settled near Baileyville. On December 1, 1890, he married Minnie Manion and to this union was born three daughters.

He was a prominent farmer for many years at Axtell. He and his wife later moved to a ranch near Topeka then to Kansas City for a few years.

Later they went back to Axtell to live with his sister, Mrs. Helen Hampton, after the death of her husband.

He joined the Masonic order in early life and remained a faithful member to the close. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and his sister, Mrs. Helen Hampton, of Axtell; his daughters, Mrs. W. J. Harrison, of St. Joe, Mo., Mrs. William Parli, of Marysville, Kan., Mrs. George Fawl of Rossville; six grandchildren Juanita and Donald Harrison; Eileen and LaVon Parli, Geraldine and Norma Jean Fawl, besides a host of friends.

The Masonic order had charge of the services at the cemetery, Monday, November 23rd. Interment was in Rosehill cemetery at Axtell, Kan. Mr. Bird will be remembered here as he and Mrs. Bird lived in the community a few years ago for a short period of time.
