Kenneth Mason
Kenneth Lee Mason, 67, Topeka, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at his home.

Mr. Mason owned and operated Venetian Marble Co. in Fort Worth, Texas, Farmers Group Purchasing in Topeka, KLM Oil Exploration in McLouth and Western Hills Golf Club in Topeka. He earlier had been district manager for Pyramid Life Insurance in Lincoln, Neb.

He was born April 27, 1935, in Rossville, to Clay and Frances Pobrislo Mason. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1953 and attended Kansas State University. He had lived in Topeka since 1969.

Mr. Mason was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

He married Lois Halleron on Sept. 3, 1956. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Julie Conroy, Sheila Mason and Jennifer Head, all of Topeka; two brothers, Richard Mason, Kingman, and Jerry Mason, Silver Lake; a sister, Elise Bott, Hot Springs, Ark.; and six grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Mason will lie in state at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today, where a prayer service at 6 p.m. will be followed by visitation until 8 p.m.
