Genevieve Clare Grace Matyak, 71, Delia, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 1996, at a Topeka hospital.

Mrs. Matyak and her husband owned and operated Matyak’s Garage in Delia. For more than 20 years she served as the treasurer of Delia.

Mrs. Matyak was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia, and the Auxiliary to Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion, Rossville.

She married Paul F. Matyak, July 26, 1945, at Delia. He survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Barnes, Topeka, Roxann Fath, Tecumseh, and Monica Steiner, Olathe; three sons, Paul J. Matyak, Rossville, Ed Matyak, Topeka, and Rich Matyak, Delia; one brother, Gerald Grace, Topeka; one sister, Alice Payne, Hastings, Neb.; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia. Burial was at Czech-Moravian Cemetery, Rossville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson County Home Health Care, 326 East 9th, Holton, 66436, or the charity of the donor’s choice and sent in care of Parker Price Mortuary.

Genevieve Clare Grace Matyak, 71, Delia, died Wednesday, August 7, 1996, at a Topeka hospital.

Mrs. Matyak and her husband owned and operated Matyak’s Garage in Delia. For more than 20 years she served as the treasurer of Delia.

She was born May 23,1925, at Delia, the daughter of Thomas Joseph and Bernadette Mary McMullen Grace. She graduated from Delia High School.

Mrs. Matyak was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia, and the Auxiliary to Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion, Rossville.

She married Paul F. Matyak, July 26, 1945, at Delia. He survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Barnes, Topeka, Roxann Fath, Tecumseh, and Monica Steiner, Olathe; three sons, Paul J. Matyak, Rossville (who died early the next day), Ed Matyak, Topeka, and Rick Matyak, Delia; one brother, Gerald Grace, Topeka; one sister, Alice Payne, Hastings, NE; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation was Thursday evening at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka.
A double funeral service with her son, Paul, was at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia. Burial was in Czech-Moravan Cemetery, Rossville.
