Matyak
Paul Joseph Matyak, 49, Topeka, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 1996, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Matyak was self-employed in the auto sales business and also had been a machinist for several years.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was born April 24, 1947, at
Wamego, the son of Paul F. and
Genevieve Clare Grace Matyak. He was graduated from Delia High School and attended Kansas State University, Manhattan. He had lived in Topeka the past 20 years.
He married Marcia Johnson.
They were later divorced.
Survivors include two daughters,
Jenny Matyak, Topeka, and Libby
Matyak, Amarillo, Texas; his father, Paul F. Matyak, Delia; two brothers, Ed Matyak, Topeka, and Rick Matyak, Delia; three sisters, Dorothy Barnes, Topeka, Roxann Fath, Tecumseh, and Monica Steiner, Olathe.
A double funeral service with Mr. Matyak’s mother, Genevieve Matyak, was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia. Burial for both was in the Czech-Moravian Cemetery, Rossville.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 1315 S.W. Arrowhead Road, Topeka, 66604.
