Obituary- McBurney, Charles
Charles McBurney dies during hunting trip
Charles McBurney of Topeka collapsed and died Saturday of an apparent heart attack while pheasant hunting near Colby, Kansas. He was the father of Floyd McBurney, formerly of Rossville and now of Council Grove, Kansas.
Mr. McBurney was born January 14, 1890, at Seneca. He had been a Topeka resident since 194_. He was a retired refrigeration engineer.
Survivors include four sons, Charles McBurney of Topeka, Floyd McBurney of Council Grove, Loyd McBurney of Overbrook, and Donald McBurney stationed with the U. S. Navy at San Diego, California; three daughter, Mrs. Lola Lyons of Topeka, Mrs. Verla Tunison, Warner Robins, Ga., and Mrs. Mildred Humphries of Emporia; 16 grandchildren; two brothers and three sister.
Services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary in Topeka with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
