Obituary- McCarty, William

William McCarty
Mayetta - Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church here for William H. McCarty, 89, Lanagan, Mo., formerly of Delia, Kan., died Monday in a hospital at Gravette, Ark.

He was born Jan. 1, 1881, near Carbon, Iowa, and spent most of his life in the Delia community. He lived at Lanagan for 11 years.

Mr. McCarty had been a Jackson County commissioner 16 years. He was a farmer and stockman before he retired. he was a member of the Catholic Church at Noel, Mo.

He was married to the former Amy Akins. She survives.

A foster son, Eldon Darnell, Atchison, also survives.

Burial will be in Mayetta Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home, Holton, is in charge of arrangements.
