Delia farmer dies Monday at age of 77
Roy McClain, 77, of near Delia, died Monday in a Topeka convalescent center. He had been admitted to a Topeka hospital Apr. 27 after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage, and later was transferred to the convalescent center.

Born Nov. 22, 1891, at Elkfork, Ky., he had lived in Kansas since 1923, spending most of his life in the Rossville and Delia communities as a farmer. He was a member of the Rossville Christian Church.

He was married to Hattie Kolbek on May 2, 1954, who survives. A son, Ora McClain, preceded him in death.

Survivors, other than his wife, include three sons: Vencile McClain, Ashton, Ill,; Thornton McClain and Luther McClain, both of Rossville;

Four daughters: Mrs. Nancy Preble, Mrs. Letha Reser, both of Rossville; Mrs. Mazie Gooderl, Hoyt; and Mrs. Barbara Casto, Leggett, Calif.;

A half-sister: Mrs. Ethel Bailey, Phoenix, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held this afternoon (Wednesday) at 2:00 in the Rossville Christian Church, with burial in the city cemetery.
