Obituary- McClain, Roy 2
Roy McClain
Roy McClain, 77, Route 1, Delia, died Monday in a Topeka convalescent center. He had been admitted to a Topeka hospital April 27 after he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and later was transferred to the convalescent center.
He was born Nov. 22, 1891, at Elkfork, Ky., and had lived in Kansas since 1923. He spent most of his life in the Rossville and Delia communities. He was a member of the Christian Church at Rossville. He was a farmer.
He was married to Hattie Kolbek May 2, 1954. He was preceded in death by a son, Ora McClain.
Besides his wife, survivors include three sons, Vencille McClain, Ashton, Ill., and Thornton McClain and Luther McClain, both of Rossville; four daughters, Mrs. Letha Reser and Mrs. Nancy Preble, both of Rossville, Mrs. Mazie Gooderl, Hoyt, and Mrs. Barbara Casto, Leggett, Calif.; a half-sister, Mrs. Ethel Bailey, Phoenix, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rossville Chris¬tian Church. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys, is in charge of arrangements.
