Kerwin
Robert E. Kerwin, 97, Delia, died Saturday, Feb 4, 1989, at a St. Marys nursing home.

Mr. Kerwin was a farmer in the Delia community.

He was born Aug. 10, 1891, at Cross Creek in Jackson County, later known as Delia, the son of Robert and Katherine Murry Kerwin. He graduated from a one room school south of Delia. He was a lifelong Delia resident.

Mr. Kerwin was the oldest member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Delia and had served on the Delia school board in the late 30s.

He was married to Mary A. Hanrahan June 28, 1916, at Delia. She died March 2, 1972. He also was preceded in death by a son, Aloysius Kerwin.

Survivors include four sons, Robert A. Kerwin and Kenneth Kerwin, both of Delia, Clinton Kerwin, Rossville, and Leo Kerwin, Hamilton; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 16 step great-grandchildren; and seven step great-great- grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Delia. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys. Pallbearers will be Mike Kerwin, Bob Kerwin, Kevin Kerwin, Patrick Kerwin, Leo (Joe) Kerwin, Leo Hanrahan.

We wish to thank all our relatives, friends and neighbors who helped in any way following the death of our loved one, Robert E. Kerwin. Thank you for the Mass enrollments, memorial donations, flowers, phone calls, cards and other acts of sympathy.

We thank Dr. Fred Brown and Mike Swann; the St. Marys Manor Staff; Father Erickson for his beautiful tribute to Robert during the Mass; to Marilyn Trechter for the Memorial at the Manor; George Verschelden and Arnold Oestmann for their compassionate services; and to the Sacred Heart ladies and others for the delicious dinner.
