Obituary- McConnell, John R. 2

Obituary
Scores of friends of the late John McConnell attended funeral services at the Presbyterian church, July 1. Services were conducted by Rev. Horne assisted by the M.W.A. and S.B.A. lodges.

Mr. McConnell was born in Rossville, May 10, 1880. Died at a local hospital in Topeka, June 27. He was married July 24, 1909 to Miss Emma Cottle and to this union was born four children Ruby, Johnie, James, and an infant son who preceded the father in death.

With his wife and children who mourn a kind and loving husband and father, his three brothers, George of Rossville; Jim of St. Mary; Robert of Oregon and one sister, Mrs. Elmer Smartz of Harrisburg, Penn., feel his loss deeply.

John was a good citizen, a friend of all and a splendid neighbor.

He is gone and we will miss him,
And we linger a few days,
But at last we'll go to meet him,
Just beyond the suns bright rays.
