Mary E. McDermott
HUTCHINSON — Mrs. Mary Elizabeth McDermott, 85, formerly of Delia, died Thursday at a Hutchinson hospital after a long illness.

She was born Jan. 28, 1895, in Delia, the daughter of Edward and Catherine Fennell McNeive. She
moved to Hutchinson in 1936.

Mrs. McDermott was a telephone company oper¬ator at Delia for 10 years.

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Hutchinson.

She was married to James Murry. He died in 1918. She later was married to Jim McDermott. He died in 1952.

Survivors include a son, James E. Murry, Wichita, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church at Hutchinson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. A parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home, Hutchinson. Mrs. McDermott will lie in state from 11 a.m. Sunday to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
