Ardeth Rae McGinnis
ROSSVILLE — Ardeth Rae McGinnis, 61, Rossville, died Tuesday, March 18, 1997, at a Rossville nursing home.
Mrs. McGinnis and her husband owned and operated McGinnis’ Mainstreeter Restaurant in Rossville.
She was born Nov. 9, 1935, in Ionia, the daughter of Glenn Ray and Ida Agnes Miles Wright. She was graduated from Ionia High School in 1953 and moved to Rossville in 1967.
Mrs. McGinnis was a member of the auxiliary to Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville and the Gage Center Women’s Bowling League in Topeka.
She married Charles N. “Nolan” McGinnis on March 21, 1954, in Ionia. He died Feb. 11, 1991.
Survivors include three daughters, Danielle Schuetz, Rossville, Stephanie Conner, Johnson City, Tenn., and Leslie McGinnis, Shawnee; a son, Monte McGinnis, Oskaloosa; a sister, Merna Keeler, Mankato; a brother, Edgar E. Wright, Mankato; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Rossville Christian Church. Burial will be at the Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. McGinnis will lie in state after 9 a.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee County Fire District No. 3, Rossville, 66533, or to the Rossville Community Library, Rossville, 66533.
