Robert Edward McGuire

Robert Edward McGuire of Prairie Village Kansas died April 17, 2008 after a brief illness.
Bob was born May 8, 1952 in Kansas City Missouri to Edward and Cleona McGuire. He grew up in Prairie Village and graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School in 1970. Bob was active in the youth group at Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene, including Boy Scout Troop 64, where he earned Eagle Scout. He attended Kansas State University in Manhattan Kansas, graduating with his B.S. in Accounting in 1974.

Bob became a Certified Public Accountant in 1976 and held various accounting positions in Kansas City at Lester Witte Co., New West Presentations, and was business manager for the former Kansas City Comets. He founded his own accounting firm in 1981 with offices in Westport, where he worked until his death. He enjoyed reading and gardening.

Bob was preceded in death by his father Edward McGuire. He is survived by his mother Cleona McGuire of Prairie Village Kansas and a brother Brian McGuire of Camarillo California. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Action, 10250 Barkley Street, Suite 100, Overland Park Kansas 66212.
