Obituary- McMickell, Harvey
Harvey David McMickell
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortuary for Harvey David McMickell, 88, Canton, formerly of Silver Lake. He died Sunday, Sept. 30, at a McPherson hospital.
Mr. McMickell was a retired farmer.
He was born April 25, 1896, at Ness City, the son of Joel and Lettie Reed McMickell. He served in the Army during World War I. He moved to Silver Lake in 1937, and moved to Canton in McPherson County about 15 years ago.
He was a member of the Baptist Church at Silver Lake, and of the World War I Veterans Barracks at McPherson.
He was married to Emmaretta Rankin Aug. 4, 1921, at Ness City. She died Sept. 3, 1954.
Survivors Include two sons, Joel McMickell, Buena Park, Calif., and Alva L. McMickell, Ogden, Utah; four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Pablete, Cucamonga, Calif., Mrs. Winifred Ev-ans, Canton, Mrs. Doris Uhl, Scranton, and Mrs. Lorene Crawshaw, Olathe; two brothers, L.F. McMickell, Denver, and Virgie McMickell, Canton; a sister, Mrs. Inez Johannes, Chugwater, Wyo.; 33 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchil¬dren.
Burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Manor, 601 S. Kansas, Box 67, Canton, 67428.
