Obituary- Meade, Amy 2
MRS. AMY MEADE
Mrs. Amy A. Meade, 84, died Tuesday, September 25, 1975 at her home, 3644 Kirklawn in Topeka. She had been ill about three years.
She was born November 23,1890, at Maple Hill and lived in the Rossville community before she moved to Topeka three years ago.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Rossville and the women’s group at the church.
Mrs. Meade was a member of Utah Unit No. 18 of the auxiliary of Disabled American Veterans and was a past recorder of the Rossville chapter of Royal Neighbors of America. She was a member of the auxiliary of the American Legion and the Golden Agers Club, both at Rossville.
She was married to Grant Meade April 6, 1909. He died August 17, 1957. A daughter, Helen Meade, died in 1916. She also was preceded in death by a grandson and a great-grandson.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Etta Richardson, at home, and Mrs. Opal Forbes, Torrance, Calif.; three sons, Franklin Meade, Topeka, Charles Meade, Rossville, and Grant Meade, Jr., Brigham City, Utah; a sister, Mrs. Florence Puckett, Topeka; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Rossville Cemetery under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Topeka. Casket bearers were Ralph Page, LaVerne Spears, George Stadler, Richard Kelsey, Scott Kelsey and Verlon Cress.
