Obituary- Meyer, Ruby
Ruby Mae Meyer
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Countryside United Methodist Church for Ruby Mae Binger Meyer, 70, Topeka, who died Saturday, Nov. 6,1999, shortly after arrival at a Topeka hospital.
She was born May 9, 1929, in Tulare, S.D., to Clarence and Iona Root Binger. She spent her early life in South Dakota. She moved to Rossville in 1972 and to Topeka in 1983.
She was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Topeka Woman’s Club, Arab Shrine Nobelles and the Christian Children’s Fund. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Women’s Guild at the church and Order of Eastern Star, all in Tulare, S.D. She was a graduate of the Flo V. Menninger Bible Study course.
She married Eugene H. Meyer on June 6, 1948, in Tulare, S.D. He died June 24,1988. Daughters Diane Meyer and Rhonda Meyer died in infancy.
Survivors include two sons, Vaughn H. Meyer, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Keith C. Meyer, Rossville; four daughters, Debora K. Pentecost, Lawrence, Joyce M. Buchholz, Manhattan, and Janice J. Sharp and Faye R. Miller, both in Rossville; a brother, Harvey C. Binger, Britton, S.D.; four sisters, Alice MacNeill and Della Belle Binger, both in Tulare, S.D., Maxine Boyd, Williams Bay, Wis. and Marlene Walton, Carter Lake, Iowa; and 18 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the United Church of Christ in Tulare, S.D. Burial will be in St. John’s Church Cemetery in Tulare, S.D. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Coleman-Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield, S.D. Parker-Price Mortuary is in charge of Topeka arrangements.
