Howard E. Millar
ROSSVILLE — Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Christian Church in Rossville for Howard E. Millar, 75, Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Rossville, who died Friday, Aug. 27, 1993, at a Mesa hospital.
Mr. Millar owned and operated a restaurant in Maple Hill and later owned and operated the Millar Restaurant in Rossville from 1973 to 1982.
He had been a driver for Trailways bus lines and was a restaurant cook several years. He later managed Nickerson Farms restaurants in several states and managed the XIT restaurant at the Maple Hill exit on Interstate 70.
He was born May 21, 1918, in West Virginia, the son of Howard Alexander and Edna Mae Dawson Millar. He lived Arizona the past eight years.
Mr. Millar was a member of the Moose Lodge in Buckhannon, W.Va., and the Lions Club in Maple Hill.
He was married to Stella Marley July 24, 1956, in Sutton, W.Va. She survives. A daughter, Betty Millar, and a son, Howard E. Millar, Jr., pre¬ceded him in death.
Other survivors include two sons, Allen Millar and Donald Millar, both of Warren, Ohio; four daughters. Patricia McNear, Oklahoma City, Janet Watt, Warren, Ohio, Veronica Decker, Mesa, Ariz., and Barbara Hamm, Mulberry; a brother, LeRoy Millar, St. Joseph, Mo., a sister, Virginia Madeline Ramsey, Raytown, Mo.; and 13 grandchildren.
Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Millar will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Church in Rossville.
