Cowger
Rufus E. Cowger, 77, died Nov. 29 at the Atchison Hospital. He was born in Doniphan Co., KS, and was the last of a family of 12 children. He was a retired employee of the Ed Maugelsdorf Seed Co. He is survived by his widow, Mable, of the home, a daughter Ruthie Hanshaw, Atchison, a son, Sgt. Eugene R. Cowger, stationed with the army in Japan; and two grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Atchison. A brother, Oscar Cowger, died at Soldier Aug. 3. Funeral arrangements are pending.
