Rossville Doctor Dies in Hospital
Dr. Henry B. Miller, prominent Shawnee County doctor since 1909, died Sunday at a local hospital. He was 76.
Doctor Miller was born January 1, 1881, in Rossville. He graduated from Baker University at Baldwin in 1903 and taught school in Overbrook for two years.
He entered the University of Kansas as a laboratory student and a chemistry instructor. Doctor Miller graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School and served as a resident physician at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, the Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Hospital for Contagious Diseases.
He joined his father’s practice at Rossville in 1909. Except for the years 1929-31 when he practiced in Topeka, Doctor Miller practiced in Rossville.
He was a past master of Hesperian Lodge 111 and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Topeka.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Reed Miller, of the home, and a brother, Earl D. Miller of Topeka.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Rossville Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Jones officiating. Hesperian Lodge 111 will hold graveside services at the Rossville Cemetery.
The Parker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
