Obituary- Lambert, Herbert

Herbert C. Lambert
Silver Lake – Herbert C Lambert, 86, Silver Lake, died Thursday, Oct 8, 1998, in a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Lambert farmed in the Silver Lake area, and he had been a substitute mail carrier for about 10 years. He also worked for seven years in the Santa Fe Railway offices.
He was born Aug. 11, 1912, on a farm south of Rossville, the son of William M. and Georgia A. Shipley Lambert. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1930.
Mr. Lambert served on the Tri-County Drainage Board for 24 years. He was a member of Silver Lake United Methodist Church, a 25-year member of Loyal Chapter No. 176 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a 50-year member of Lake Lodge No. 50 AF&AM in Silver Lake, a member of the Senior Citizens Club in Silver Lake, the Mesa, Ariz. Rollers Club, and Moose Lodge No. 555 in Topeka.
He married Elizabeth Ellen Wyatt on Dec. 31, 1932, in Topeka. She died April 22, 1988. He married Lorene A. Malloy Murren on Oct. 28, 1989, in Silver Lake. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Herbert L. Lambert, Silver Lake; two stepdaughters, Jeanne K. Rodecap and Debra Dee Barnes, both of Topeka; a sister, Maudie Hallert, Topeka; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Silver Lake United Methodist Church. Burial with Masonic graveside services conducted by Lodge No. 50 AF&AM will be in Silver Lake Cemetery. Mr. Lambert will lie in state after 11 a.m. today in Parker-Price Mortuary. The casket will remain closed.

Herbert C. Lambert
Herbert C Lambert, 86, Silver Lake, died Thursday, October 8, 1998 at Stormont-Vail Regional Health center, Topeka.
He was born August 11, 1912, on a farm south of Rossville, the son of William M. and Georgia A. Shipley Lambert.
He was a farmer but had worked seven years in the Santa Fe offices and had also been a substitute mail carrier for 10 years while he continued to farm.
He graduated from Silver lake High School in 1930. He was a member of the Silver Lake United Methodist Church; a 25-year member of Loyal Chapter #176 Order of the Eastern Star; a 50-year member of Lake Lodge #50, AF&AM, Silver Lake. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #555, Topeka. He was a member of the Silver Lake Senior Citizens and the Mesa Roller Club. He served on the Tri-County Drainage Board for 24 years.
