Obituary- Millar, Howard E. 3

Howard E. Millar
Howard E. Millar, 75, Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Rossville, died Friday, August 27, 1993, at a Mesa, Ariz. hospital.

He drove a Trailways bus, then for several years was a restaurant cook. He then managed Nickerson Farms restaurants in several states and later managed the XIT restaurant at the Maple Hill exit on 1-70. He owned and operated a restaurant at Maple Hill and from 1973 to 1982 owned and operated the Millar Restaurant at Rossville. He lived in Arizona the last eight years.

He was born May 21, 1918, in Daysville, West Virginia, the son of Howard Alexander and Edna Mae Dawson Millar.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Buckhannon, WV, and the Lion’s Club at Maple Hill.

He was married to Stella Marley on July 24, 1956 at Sutton, WV. She survives. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Millar, and a son, Howard Millar, Jr.

Other survivors include two sons, Allen Millar and Don Millar, both from Warren, Ohio; four daughters, Patricia McNear, Oklahoma City, Janet Watt, Warren, Ohio, Veronica Decker, Mesa, Ariz., Barbara Hamm, Mulberry; a brother, LeRoy Millar, St. Joseph, Mo.; a sister, Virginia Madeline Ramsey, Raytown, Mo.; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rossville Christian Church. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery.

Verschelden Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
