Obituary- Mitchell, George 1

George W. Mitchell

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary Chapel for George W. Mitchell, 88, Rossville, who died this morning in a Topeka hospital.

He was born Feb. 6, 1884, in Fairbury, Neb., and had lived in Rossville for the past 45 years. He was a retired farmer.

His wife, Ethel Mitchell, died March 23, 1968.

Survivors include six. daughters, Mrs. Velda O’Donnell, Mrs. Sylvia Britt, Mrs. Juanita Polson and Mrs. Elvira Olejnik, all of Rossville, Mrs. Roxie Banta, Delia and Mrs. Ruby Adams, Portland, Ore.; two sons, Theodore Mitchell, Rossville, and Glenn Mitchell, Circleville; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Robinson, in California, Mrs. Virginia Rolling, Midway, Ark., and Mrs. Margaret Vilander, 2324 Moundview; two brothers, Robert Mitchell, Cottonwood Falls, and Everett Mitchell, Silver Lake; 26 grandchildren, and 35 greatgrandchildren.

Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.


George Mitchell

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary for George W. Mitchell, 88, Rossville, who died Tuesday in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted April 24 after he suffered a broken right hip. He also had a heart ailment.

He was born Feb. 6, 1884, at Fairbury, Neb., and lived in the Rossville community 45 years. He was a retired farmer.

His wife, Mrs. Ethel Mitchell, died March 23, 1968,
