Obituary- Mitchell, George 2

GEORGE MITCHELL

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary for George W. Mitchell, 88, Rossville, who died Tuesday in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted April 24, after he suffered a broken right hip. He also had a heart ailment.

He was born February 6, 1884, at Fairbury, Neb., and lived in the Rossville community 45 years. He was a retired farmer.

His wife, Mrs. Ethel Mitchell, died March 23, 1968.

Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Velda O’Donnell, Mrs. Sylvia Britt, Mrs. Juanita Poison and Mrs. Elvira Olejnik, all of Rossville, Mrs. Roxie Banta, Delia, and Mrs. Ruby Adams, Portland, Ore.; two sons, Theodore Mitchell, Rossville, and Glenn Mitchell, Circleville; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Robinson, Calif., Mrs. Virginia Kelling, Midway, Ark., and Mrs. Margaret Vilander, Topeka; two brothers, Robert Mitchell, Cottonwood Falls, and Everett Mitchell, Silver Lake; 26 grandchildren and 35 greatgrandchildren.

Burial was in Rossville Cemetery.
