Obituary- Mitchell, Clara 2

Services were to be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rossville Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Clara Edith Mitchell, 87, Rossville. She died Wednesday, July 2, at a nursing home there.

Mrs. Mitchell had taught at Delia High School and Walnut Hill School before she retired.

She was born March 14, 1899, north of Silver Lake, the daughter of George B. and Bessie Housknecht Mahon.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Delia Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women, and a 60-year member of Loyal Chapter No. 176, Order of the Eastern Star at Silver Lake. She was one of the founders of the Lucky Five Club at Delia.

She was married to Earl Mitchell on April 29, 1922, at Topeka. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Bill Mitchell and Jack Mitchell, both of Delia; a daughter, Mrs. Maureen Wilson, O'Fallon, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Harris, Burr Oak; and 13 grandchildren.

Burial was to be in Rossville Cemetery. Parker-Price Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, P.O. Box No. 1427, Topeka, 66601.
