GERTRUDE E. MITCHELL
Gertrude E. Mitchell, 79, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born Sept. 26, 1929, in Topeka, the daughter of William and Marie Ludwig Dennis. She grew up in Topeka and graduated from Hayden High School. She had lived in the Delia community many years and later moved to Rossville, moving to Topeka in 2003.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Delia and later St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.

On April 26,1948, she was united in marriage to William G. Mitchell at Alma. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2002, and by an infant son, Dennis Ray Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by a brother William Dennis and a sister Irene Minihan.

Survivors include three sons, William Mitchell Jr., Ozawkie, Dennis Mitchell, Harrodsburg, Ky., and Christopher Mitchell, Rossville; two daughters, Patricia Saracyewski, To¬peka and Donna Conley, Hoyt; three brothers, Ted Dennis and Art Dennis both of Topeka and Pete Dennis Colorado Springs, Colo.; 14 grand-children and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday, March 6, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.

Inurnment will be at a later date in the Rossville Cemetery.
