Glen Winfield Mitchell
CIRCLEVILLE - Glen Winfield Mitchell, 76, Circleville, died Friday,
Dec. 2, at a Holton hospital.
He had been a gravel-truck driver for a Jackson County road and bridge crew. He previously was a construction worker.
Mr. Mitchell was born July 1, 1907, at Eskridge, the son of George and Ethel Lister Mitchell. He moved from Centralia to Circleville in 1963.
He was married to Esther Irene Taylor March 8, 1929, at Seneca. She survives. He was preceded in death by a son, Norman Mitchell, on Nov. 26,1972.
Survivors include three sons, Lloyd E. Mitchell, Carbondale, and Loren D. Mitchell and David L. Mitchell, both of Circleville; a brother, Theodore Mitchell, Rossville; six sisters, Mrs. Velda O’Donnell, Mrs. Juanita Polson and Mrs. Sylvia Britt, all of Rossville, Mrs. Roxie Banta, Silver Lake, Mrs. Elvira Olejnik, Weston, Mo., and Mrs. Ruby Adams, Portland, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home, Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Glen Mitchell Memorial Fund to be designated later and sent in care of Farmers State Bank at Circleville, 66416.
