Obituary- Mitchell, Helen

Mrs. Helen P. Mitchell
Mrs. Helen Patricia Mitchell, 86, 4900 Huntoon, died Monday, April 21, at a Topeka hospital.

Mrs. Mitchell had been an office manager at a naval station in Seattle during World War II.

She was born Nov. 18, 1899, at Breckinridge, Okla., the daughter of Daniel and Mary Neuenschwander Hennessy. She spent most of her life in the Silver Lake community, and lived in Topeka since 1981.

She was a member of the auxiliary to Silver Lake Post No. 160 of the American Legion at Silver Lake.

She was married to Laurence S. Mitchell Dec. 10, 1921, in Topeka. He died Sept. 14, 1980.

Survivors include a son, Stanley Mitchell, Silver Lake; two grandsons and two great-grandsons.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery at Silver Lake. Mrs. Mitchell will lie in state after 4 p.m. today at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5375 W. 7th, Topeka, 66606; or to Silver Lake United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 188, Silver Lake, 66539.
