Norman S. Lambotte
Norman S. Lambotte, 71, rural Topeka, died Thursday, July 6, 2000 at a Topeka hospital emergency room.

He was born December 8, 1928, in Dover, the son of Lee and Martha Warner Lambotte.

He grew up in the Dover community and was graduated from Dover High School. He had lived in the Rossville and Willard communities for many years. He served with the 101st Army Airborne during the Korean War era. He worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 39 years as a department foreman. He retired in 1989. He was a stockman and raised Black Angus cattle and was a member of the Angus Association and the Kansas Livestock Association. He attended St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. He was a member of the Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville. He coached American Legion baseball many years in Rossville. He was a past Boy Scout leader for Troop No. 98 in Rossville. He was a member of the Goodyear Top 10 Club. He was a past member of the Rossville Palomino Club.

He married Betty Jacobson on September 17,1950 at St. Marys. She survives at home.

Other survivors include three sons, Kenneth Lambotte and Richard Lambotte, both of Topeka, and Todd Lambotte, Rossville; one sister, Martha Kaul, Topeka; one brother, Eldon Lambotte, Hiawatha; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Mass of Christian Burial was Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys, with a military graveside service conducted by Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion. A rosary was held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church or the Rossville Booster Club and sent in care of the funeral home.

Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
