Obituary- Moore, Albert

A.B. MOORE
The funeral services of Albert B. Moore, a citizen of Jackson county, living near Delia, was held at the Presbyterian church in Delia Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Rev. Gordon S. Pritchett of Rossville Methodist Episcopal church officiating. At the cemetery a procession of school children from district 81, led by the teacher, Miss Goldie Bourm, marched at the head of the procession with the color bearer carrying the American flag, followed by the minister and then the casket, the family and friends in the order named. Each school child placed a beautiful flower on the casket after the closing service at the grave. It was a tribute paid by the school and the friends to a staunch friend of the school and the community.

Albert B. Moore was born at Utica N. Y., December 25, 1840, and died at the residence of his son C. H. Moore, on the morning of April 16, 1928, at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 22 days. At the beginning of the Civil war, he enlisted in the 91st infantry and remained in service until the close of the war.

He was united in marriage in 1866 to Mattie E. Hanna at Lisbon, Ill., moving to Kansas in 1884 and locating on a farm near Delia where he had resided ever since. Mrs. Moore, his wife, departed this life five years before his death. Two children of this, union died in infancy, the other five still living, being Mrs. Lettie Worthing, Belvue; Mrs. Lucella Skinner, Topeka; Cyrus H. Moore, Delia, Burton S. Moore, Conway, Ark., and Mrs. Addie Culberson, Chicago, Ill.

Burial was in the Delia cemetery.
