Lawrence Lemon
ROSSVILLE — Lawrence Earl Lemon, 84, Rossville, died Tuesday, Aug. 7,2001, at a Rossville nursing home.

He was born Aug. 18,1916, in Maple Hill, the son of Earl William and Alice LePage Lemon. He was raised in the Maple Hill Community and graduated from Maple Hill High School in 1933. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1967 and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He had lived many years in the Ellinwood community and then several years in St. Marys before he moved to Rossville.

He married Mildred Bernice Leeper in 1941. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include a sister, Reva Boaz, Shawnee Mission.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence E. Lemon Memorial Fund to be designated later and sent in care of Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys.

He had lived in Rossville the past several years. He grew up in the Maple Hill community and was graduated from Maple Hill High School in 1933. Mr. Lemon retired from the United States Air Force in 1967. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He had lived in the Ellinwood community for many years, then lived in St. Marys for several years before moving to Rossville.
