Obituary- Lemon, Virgil 2

Virgil L. Lemon
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortuary for Virgil L. Lemon, 72, Rossville, who died Saturday, February 11, 1989, at his home. The Rev. Robert Sieh of the Rossville Christian Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rossville Cemetery.

Mr. Lemon was a heavy equipment operator before he retired.

He was born August 12, 1916, at Rossville, the son of Cecil and Anna Lee Lemon. He lived in Manhattan before he returned to Rossville in 1970.

Mr. Lemon was a member of the Christian Church in Rossville, and Moose Lodge No. 555 in Topeka.

He was married to Hazel E. Simon April 17, 1937, at Manhattan. She died September 20, 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Eagles, Topeka; two sisters, Anita VandeVelde, St. Marys, and Dorothy McDonald, Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; two brothers, Clyde Lemon, Des Moines, Ia., and Don Lemon, St. Louis; two granddaughters, Shari Orr, Topeka, and Christi Orr, Manhattan; several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (this evening); the casket will remain closed.

Contributions may be made to the Virgil Lemon Memorial Fund to be designated later by relatives and sent in care of Shirley Eagles, 3737 Plaza Drive, Topeka, 66609; or to Box 241, Rossville, 66533.
