Obituary- Lindstrom, Bryan 1

Bryan James Lindstrom
Bryan J. Lindstrom, 40, of Silver Lake, KS, died on Feb. 13, 2013, after a hard fought battle with intestinal cancer. Bryan was born Oct. 6, 1972, in Topeka, KS, to John and Bev Lindstrom, who reside in Silver Lake. Along with his parents he is survived by his loving wife, Beth, who he married on Jan. 6, 1996, at Countryside United Methodist Church. Also surviving are his two amazing and loving children, son, Tagen, and daughter, Brooke; brother: Brad and Becky, and their children Jake and Jayme; brother-in-law: Mike and Jenny Bush and their children: Gavin and Katie; grandmothers: Gladys Lindstrom and Harriett Perry (Dick); father-in-law: Roger Bush; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Bryan graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1991, with academic honors and with many athletic accomplishments. He then attended Washburn University with academic and athletic scholarships to play baseball prior to continuing and finishing his degree in Industrial Engineering at Kansas State University in 1995. He worked in Human Resources at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and had since worked at Collective Brands Corporate Headquarters in the Compensation Department. He was a member of Silver Lake United Methodist Church.

Bryan was well respected in his work, earning several honors and the respect of his peers, but he most especially would want to be remembered for the time he spent with his own children and all of their ball teams over the years. He had coached soccer, softball, basketball, baseball, and football for both his daughter and his son and their many teams. He has influenced the athletic ability, but most especially the character building of countless numbers of youth. Parenting and coaching were the highlights of his life and he had a special gift for it that many had a chance to witness and experience. He loved coaching sports and also enjoyed playing and watching them. He was an avid golfer and spent many weekends helping his son, Tagen, learn the love of golf as well. He was also a huge K-State Wildcat fan. He had season football and basketball tickets for several years and loved taking Tagen and Brooke along. Everything he did and enjoyed in life he did with great passion.
