Leamon Boone
Leamon Boone, 90, Topeka, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Rossville Healthcare & Rehab Center in Rossville.
He was born June 11, 1922 at Smithville, NC, the son of Willie and Mamie Stanley Boone. Mr. Boone served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII.
Leamon owned and operated Boone Office Machines with his wife Virginia from 1970 until they retired. He had worked for Remington Rand and Crane Office Machines. He was a member of Capital City Aerie No. 439 FOE Topeka.
Mr. Boone was preceded in death by a son John on April 10, 2002. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons.
On June 21, 1944 he was united in marriage to Virginia Gill- reath at Lawrence, they had just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Ilene Boone, Topeka; a great-granddaughter, Emily of the home; two sons, Kenneth (Laura) Boone, San Antonio, TX, and Jim (Pattie) Boone, Auburn; two sisters, Ruby Lee Jones, Virginia Beach, VA, and Cleo Cole, Hopewell, VA; eight grandchildren, Amy (Randy) Pickens, Rossville, Lisa (Troy) Jesop, Marietta, GA, Debbie (Essa) Lopez, Hastings, NE, Jason Boone, San Antonio, TX, Christy (Dennis) Snow, Salt Lake City, UT, Christina (Jake) Bell, San Antonio, TX, Jody (Robert) Monrell, Auburn, Jen¬nifer (Mike) Crews, Topeka and Rebecca (Jimmy) Barngrover, Auburn; 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grand- children.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 26, 2012 on the Patio at the Topeka Cemetery. Mr. Boone will lie in state from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. Monday, June 25, 2012 at Piper Funeral Chapel in Rossville.
