Obituary- Lysek, Raymond

Raymond R. Lysek
EMMETT – Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Emmett, for Raymond R. Lysek, 53, Emmett, who was killed Tuesday in car-pedestrian accident south of the business district in Emmett. He was dead on arrival at a St. Marys hospital.

He was born July 9, 1920, in Delia and lived in Emmett most of his life.

He served in the Navy during the Pearl Harbor bombing and was a 20-year Navy veteran. He was a machinist.

Mr. Lysek was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Emmett, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include a brother, Joseph L. Lysek, 2401 Morningside, Topeka; and three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Dietrich, Wichita, Mrs. Lucille Freeman, La Puente, Calif., and Mrs. Pauline DeVader, Emmett.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.

The parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys.


Car-Bike Wreck Kills Emmett Man
EMMETT- A middle-aged man was killed here Tuesday night when he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle on Main St. south of the business district.

Raymond Lysek, Emmett, was taken by ambulance to St. Marys where he was pronounced dead by a doctor.

The accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m., authorities said. Emmett is located 8 miles north of St. Marys in Pottawatomie County.
