Obituary- Osborn, Clinton

Clinton (Whitey) Osborn
Clinton S. Osborn was born in
Richland, Iowa, on Feb. 7, 1867 and passed away Oct. 22, 1945 at the home of his sister, Mrs. Anna Shuck, in Portland, Oregon.

Clint was 4 years of age when he first came to Kansas with his parents, Robert and Mary Osborn. He grew to manhood in Rossville. In the year 1897 he was united in marriage to Sarah Burns. No children were born to this union. In 1904 they left Rossville and moved to Quinter, Kansas, where they lived until his wife passed away in February 1936. Then he moved hack to Rossville, where he made his home until June of this year when he went to Portland, Oregon, to be with his sister.

He was preceded in death by one sister Effie Reece and one brother, Albert Osborn. He leaves to mourn his loss one sister, Anna Shuck of Portland, Oregon; two nieces, Alice Carman of Omaha and Lelah Horton of Portland, Ore.; four nephews, Vernon and Almon Osborn of Omaha, Ernest and Irvin Seager and several cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church here at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Arlene Reid and Mrs. O. S. Boyd, with Miss Edith Higginbotham at the piano.

The pall bearers were Messrs Mart Whearty, Paul Renwan, Sidney Stumbaugh, Joe Navarre, Ed James and Albert Reser.

Burial was in Rossville cemetery.

Out-of-town relatives here for the funeral were, Mrs. George Carman of Omaha; Mrs. G. L. Folsom, St. Marys Mr. and Mrs. Jim Osborn, Silver Lake Mr. and Mrs. Rich Osborn, Paxico; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Osborn, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Smith, Mr. Odd Osborn all of Topeka; Mrs. Anna Shuck, his Bister, Portland, Oregon.
