Obituary- Osborn, Gordon

Gordon Osborn
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Davidson-Duff Funeral Home for Gordon 0. Osborn, 70, Luray, formerly of 4425 S.E. US-40, Topeka, who died Thursday morning at a Russell hospital.

He was born Jan. 15, 1908, in Delia., and lived most of his life in Topeka. He moved to Luray three years ago.

He operated restaurants for more than 50 years and most recently operat
ed Gordon’s Bar-b-que on East 6th. He served in the Army during World War II.
He was a 35-year member of the American Legion Capitol Post No. 1, and a member of the Forty et Eight Club.

He married Belle Kenney on May 31, 1968, in Westmoreland. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Robert Osborn, Pittsburg; two stepsons, Jack Benander, Locus Grove, Okla., and Larry Benander, Hutchinson; a step-daughter, Mrs. Darlene Smith, Luray; two brothers, Theodore Osborn, St. Louis, and John Osborn, address unavailable; a sister, Mrs. Golda Thompson, 705 Tyler; three granddaughters, eight stepgrandchildren, one great-grandchild and six stepgreat-grand- children.

Military graveside services, conducted by American Legion Capitol Post No. 1, will be in Memorial Park. Mr. Osborn will lie in state after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at 705 Tyler.
