Obituary- Osborn, Sarah

OSBORNE
Sarah Ellen Burns was born near Spring Town, Indiana, October 11, 1870, and departed this life at Quinter, Kansas, February 16, 1936, aged 65 years, 4 months and 5 days. She was converted when quite young and has lived a conscientious and Christian life always. She was orphaned at the age of 4 years by the loss of her mother, being the youngest child of a family of seven children.

She, with her father came to Rooks County, Kansas, in the spring of 1880, staying only a short time when they moved to Wilson, Kansas; then on back to Missouri where she had made her home after leaving Indiana at the age of 2 years.

On March 4, 1897. she was united in marriage to Clint Osborne, of Rossville, Kansas, and in the spring of 1906 they moved to Quinter, Kan where they have resided since.

She leaves to mourn her loss two sisters, Mrs. Emanuel Parker, of Wilbur, Washington, and Mrs. C. M. Reed, of Powersville, Mo., and her faithful and loving husband, Clint Osborne, of Quinter; besides other relatives and a host of friends in each community where she has resided.

The body was brought to Rossville, Tuesday, and funeral services held at the Methodist church in charge of Rev. Horton. A quartet of ladies composed of Mrs. E. G. Griswold, Mrs. A. G. Wallerstedt. Mrs. William Hesse, and Mrs. E. E. Witter, sang, accompanied by Miss Edith Higginbotham. The pallbearers were Messrs. M. L. Whearty, Londa Cottle, E.G. Griswold, Dave Lambert, Frank Murray, Walter Cless. The body was placed in its final resting place in the Rossville cemetery.


CARD OF THANKS – I wish to thank my Rossville friends and relatives for the many acts of kindness and sympathy extended during the burial service of my wife. Also to the ladies furnishing music and those who served as pallbearers. –Clint Osborn.

Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Smith of Topeka were in Rossville, Tuesday, to attend the funeral of Mrs. Clint Osborn of Quinter, Kan.

The following out-of-town relatives were in Rossville last week to attend the funeral of Mrs. Clint Osborn: Mrs. W.S. Graham of San Francisco, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Osborn, of Silver Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Osborn, Mrs. Roy Osborn, Ivan Osborn, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Smith, Mrs. Vada Heslet of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Rich Osborn of Paxico.
