Obituary- Osborne, Elsie
Girl Takes Her Own Life
Despondency because of her father’s objections to a suitor is thought to have caused Miss Elsie Osborne, 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delaney Osborne, to take her own life, at her home four miles southwest of Willard. Monday morning by swallowing carbolic acid.
The girl’s body, clad in a night gown, was found in her room. An empty carbolic acid bottle was found near, and she apparently had been dead for several hours.
Miss Osborne is well known in Rossville. At one time she was employed in the I. T. Hopkins home. Only last week she had looked fora location in Rossville to open a millinery store.
The funeral was held yesterday from the West Union church south of Willard.
